Photo Retouching for Quality Results

Hopkins School founded in 1660 was looking to improve the quality of the duotones in its quarterly publication Views. The school leadership was looking to print on a quality opaque stock so the publication would not look too slick. Hopkins’ graphic designer, Pat Shoemaker and Harty agreed that Finch Fine would be an economical solution.

Harty developed a customized reproduction curve for Hopkins duotones and reviewed every supplied digital photo and retouched the photos that would not yield an acceptable result without intervention. The new standards produced consistent high quality results issue to issue.
